What Determines My Logo or Image Quality?
The dimensions of your image are crucial to the quality of your finished garment. The smaller the dimensions of the image, the less resolution and quality you will get out of the final design.
Our file guidelines:
- JPG or PNG
- Max file size 10mb
- at least 150 DPI
- at least 1000px along the smallest edge. eg. 1000px x 1500px
PNG VS JPG
We won't delve into compression here. All you really need to know is the the following:
PNG = can have transparent backgrounds
JPG = can't have transparent backgrounds
Must Read Tips For Best Results
-
Use images with a high resolution and high DPI
Simply typing in a new resolution value into the file won't result in a higher resolution print. If your graphics resolution is too low, the best solution is to recreate it. -
Use transparent backgrounds for a high quality finish
Remove backgrounds from your images and upload them as a PNG file with a transparent background. This will ensure you have no hard bounding box line to your uploaded logos. -
Do not scale your artwork beyond the edges of the 3D Model
Your artwork stays a fixed size across all of the garment sizes you order. If you scale your artwork to the edge of the 3D model, it won’t appear on the edge on sizes larger than XS or Y6. -
Do not use trademarked or copyrighted logos or images
Known brands and images are great. Using them without permission is not great. Our team will disapprove your design and cancel your order. You’ll need to place it again which may cause delays to your expected ship date. -
Avoid semi-transparent designs or gradients
Semi-transparent graphics (or elements with lowered opacity), or colour gradients don't translate well with sublimation. We advise using solid colours, or simulating semi-transparency by half-toning.
How Your Design Appears Across Different Sizes
Our 3D Models render your design on the smallest size available. This ensure all elements of your design will be visible across all sizes.
The 3D model for Adult garments is a Size XS. The 3D model for Youth garments is a Size Y6.
Your design stays as a fixed size while the garment size increases - pictured below.
Ensure your design looks great across all sizes by not putting any elements up against the edge of the 3D model.
